Born in St. Petersburg, FL, and raised in a home on the shore of Tampa Bay, I had a wonderful, outdoorsy kind of childhood which instilled a lifelong love and appreciation of nature and the outdoors. I originally came to NC to attend Wake Forest University, where I graduated with a degree in Education and subsequently taught at the elementary school level, later transitioning to substitute teaching during my own children’s younger years.
For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep interest in issues pertaining to health and wellness, and this eventually led to a career in Bodywork. I returned to school and graduated from the FTCC School of Therapeutic Massage in 2000. I have since completed advanced training and certification in the areas of Myofascial Release, Medical Massage, Healing Touch, and most recently, The MELT Method.
After working for many years at The Center for Family Wellness, a multidisciplinary, holistic wellness center, I now maintain a private practice in a dedicated office space within my home. This area includes both a private treatment room as well as an adjacent room for MELT sessions. My treatment space provides a safe and nurturing environment which is conducive to healing on many levels, and I am grateful every day for the opportunity to work in this peaceful setting.
In my leisure time, I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, yoga, reading, and anything having to do with my adult children and/or my dogs.
